Timothy James O’Brien, age 60, of St. Charles passed away suddenly Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Troy, New York to Kenneth and Rita O’Brien, he was the sixth of their nine children.
He graduated from NIU with his CPA and his pilot’s license and immediately went to work. He worked for several different public accounting firms but in 2011, he got the opportunity to be his own boss when he joined Loberg, Miki and O’Brien. He loved going to work in shorts but he mostly loved working with Greg, Jon, Michelle and Dave. He was well respected and trusted in all that he did. Tim was actively involved in the Congregational UCC of St. Charles. He served as a member of Church Council (twice), served on the Stewardship committee, went on many mission trips to Back Bay and was a lead member on the “Fall Fest” planning committee. He loved his church and was proud to call everyone his church family. Tim also loved his family, his wife, Jackie of 28 years, his boys, Matt and Alex. Lots of good memories were made on many family vacations.
Tim was well loved and respected by so many who knew him for his intelligence, work ethic, his desire to always help others. His uncompromising values and ethics guided his life and the lives of those he touched. He will be truly missed by so many.
He was preceded in death by his father,

"Tim and I crossed paths many times over the years going all the back to his days at FERS. Often we debated accounting or tax issues, going in multiple tangents and sometimes forgetting where we started. I will miss Tim’s smile and intelligence."
Bill D'Allaird from Sonoma, CA
"My cousin Tim's absence will be sorely missed at his and Jackie's annual visits to Wine Country Somoma. It was during these visits that I got to know Tim, a wonderful, smiling, person who finally came into my life. As he told me, he really did not know me very well since he was much younger and I moved from Illinois many years ago. Penny and I can't believe he's gone. He will live in our hearts forever."
Donna Bryski from Chicago, IL
