Virginia Lea Geinosky, 79, of North Aurora, died Tuesday, October 11 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago after a brave fight with Mantel Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Virginia “Ginny” was born July 6, 1943 in Chicago to George and Marie Streit. She graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1961. In 1963 she married the love of her life, William J. Geinosky. She was a homemaker and mother to her three daughters until she went to work for State Farm Insurance in Batavia in 1976 where she worked as the Office Manager for almost 30 years. She was excellent at her job, she loved helping her “insureds” and they in turn, loved her back. In the years that followed she enjoyed retirement and relished time with family and her grandchildren. She also loved to root for her favorite sports team, the Chicago Bears and listen to her favorite singer, Elvis Presley. She will be sorely missed by all those who loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill, daughters; Michelle (Jeff) Berls, Denise (Scott) Granath, Laura (Jim) Barrett, five grandchildren; Kevin Berls, Heather (Brian) Pacholski, Hope (Amber) Breuch, Jack (Hannah) Barrett and Ryan Barrett, three great-grandchildren; Violet, Thomas, and George Pacholski. She is also survived by five siblings, Bernie, Mary, Ray, Kenny and Cathy.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, and her granddaughter, Julie Berls.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 18 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 801 Oak Street, North Aurora with Rev. Max Lasrado presiding. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Monday, October 17 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, St. Charles (Corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia’s memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

"Miss you already Virg; knowing the Geinoskys without you will not be the same. You were a well needed second big sister when we lived next door in Batavia. Your advice, sharp wit, & strong German will gave us boys & Mary plenty to think about when we were giving mom more than she could handle. Thank you for your love & concern for your true love, Bill's family."

Bruce and Jean (Pricener) Phillips from Rolling Meadows, IL, IL

"Hello, BillOur sincere condolences on the death of your wife. We only met her a few times and she was very gracious. ( Fred called to tell of her death.) May she rest in peace."

Laura & Jim, Jack & Hannah and Ryan from Geneva, IL

"To our dear, beautiful Mom and cherished Nana: these words will never appropriately describe how much we love and will miss you. You were quite simply our family’s North Star. In both happy and difficult times, your presence was our calm. Ever since I can remember, from a very young girl to today, as long as I could see or hear you in a room in a sea of people, I felt comforted and grounded. But now, we will carry you in our hearts, so you can still be a part of your loving family’s togetherness and life events. And, when we visit Dad, we will always envision you meeting us at the front door of your house, with a happy hello, a huge smile, a warm kiss and hug, and a glass of wine. Some of your last words to me were “I want to go home. I just want to go home.” You are home now. Rest in heavenly peace, Mom, with your Julie and all your loved ones who welcomed you home. Your unwavering fight to stay with us for as long as possible was won by you—YOU decided when to end the fight—NOT cancer, and you will always be our bravest mother, Nana, and hero. No more sickness, no more suffering. Fly, butterfly… FLY! All our love, forever and ever~xoxo"
