Virginia M. (Volanti) Arno, 85 of St. Charles, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 5:07am. She was born on August 27,1940 in Chicago, IL to the late Enrico (Henry) Volanti and Helen M. (Smith) Volanti. She was married on October 4, 1958 to the love of her life, (the late) Kenneth C. Arno, Jr.
Virginia is survived by her Three children, Debora (Phillip) Austiff of Springfield, IL, Susan (the late, John) Wermeling of Elmhurst, IL, and Cynthia (the late, Kevin) Phelps of St. Charles, IL; Seven grandchildren, Calvin Austiff, Wesley (Lindsay) Phelps, Quinn Wermeling, Rachel (Tyler) Collico, Rebeka (Zach) Herrera, Mitchell (partner,Kelly) Phelps, Russell (fiance,Carly) Phelps, Emily Austiff (deceased) ; Three great grandchildren, Carter Collico, Monroe Phelps and Jack Collico. ; Four brothers and sisters, Barbara (Rene, deceased) Goossens, Ronald (Joan) Volanti, Pauline (Louis) Plica, Carl (deceased) (Judy) Volanti ; Two brother-in-laws, Duane Arno (deceased) and Dr. Donald (Margaret) Kipper, nephew, Andrew Kipper. She was a loving aunt and cousin to many.
Virginia (Tootsie) spent her professional career as a Real Estate agent and in Banking as a loan officer. Her first joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She also had a soft spot for her grand dogs, Duke, and in most recent years Riley. Her favorite pastime was reading romantic novels and listening to old country music while traveling on road trips with her husband Ken. If asked she would always reminisce of floating on Lake Benedict, Wi or Sunset Lake, Girard, IL as a good memory. She especially liked to play cards and Wii bowling with her family. Tootsie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her family.
There will be Chapel Service at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery on Friday September 26, 2025 at 11:30 A.M.
