William J. Miceli, age 85, of St. Charles, loving Father and Tata, died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva, Illinois.

He was born November 4, 1933 to Rosina Giampalo Miceli & James Miceli. On August 2, 1952 he married Diane Petramale.

William was an electrician whose expertise allowed him the opportunity to travel to other countries to work. While always maintaining his home in St. Charles, he spent time working in Vietnam, Poland, South America and Africa. These opportunities also allowed him to have his family live in a couple of these countries. He was an animal lover and brought home 2 three-toed sloths for his family, and then a newborn monkey from Africa which the family raised for several years. He had several dogs, which he truly loved.

William was not only a full-time electrician and a man who could do and fix anything, he was also a Volunteer Fireman and then a Paid on Call Fireman from 1959-1995 in St. Charles, Illinois. He loved being a Fireman and was instrumental in building the Fox River Estates Fire Station. When a fire call came thru, he was usually the first person at the station.

He is survived by his daughter, Lorilyn (Mike) Thomas and their children, Sarah (Ryan Reiner) Thomas and Bradley (Trisha Goble) Thomas.  A granddaughter, Stephene Miceli. Daughter, Melanie (Vince) Catalano and their children, Jennifer (Sam) Bouso, Brittany (Joshua) Thompson, Dominic Catalano, and Angelo (Emily) Catalano. Step-Father, Roy Tresner. Very special friends Jeff & Rebecca Swanson, and their children, David, Joe & Goddaughter Maggie Swanson. Nieces, Kerry Swartz and her son Brett, and Karen & Ken Bledsoe.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Diane Miceli. His son, James S. Miceli. His faithful companion and beloved dog of 10 years, Luckee. His sister and brother-in-law, Marianne & Ken Wrede, and his mother Rose Giampalo Miceli Tresner.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 30th at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29th at the Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles.

Condolences

"I will always remember my Uncle's dry sense of humor and how he made me laugh. I was able to see him when I visited St. Charles last year. We had a wonderful spaghetti dinner cooked by my Uncle. I love you Uncle Bill. Rest now with the angels. I will see you again some day..."

Bonnie from St Charles, IL

"What a beautiful legacy of love he leaves behind, and imagine the celebration when he arrived to the glory of heaven. Our deepest sympathy to you, Lorilyn, and your entire family. God knows the sadness of your hearts, sweet friend."
