"How sorry I am to hear of Bill's death. Karen and Bill were such a wonderful addition to our Denison-Chicago group. The five of us girls moved to the Embassy in Chicago after graduation and all met our husbands there...though Karen had known Bill from Kenyon. Such adventures we all had!!! I have been so blessed to have reunions up here in Michigan as well as joining everyone for get-togethers in Chicago. My dear husband Ralph died just a week before Karen and what a blessing that we had our friends to help us through that. Such wonderful memories of Willie P!!!! Such a sense of humor and so thoughtful. My love to his girls who were his world."

Douglas W. Armbrust, M.D. from Greeley, CO

"When people talk about Big Bill Russell, some will think of one of the greatest NBA centers of all-time with the Celtics, but for those of us who wandered the paths at Kenyon over half century ago, we all know you’re talking about that big lovable guy from the Chicago area. You want your life to be better and more fun, find yourself a Bill Russell as a dear friend! I see from the comments of our classmates that many of you had the pleasure. Let’s get together on State Street some day. Douglas W. Armbrust, M.D., Bill's Freshmen Roommate at Kenyon College"
