Wylma Bergstrom, 87, died Saturday, March 19, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Ill. Wylma was born July 12, 1934, in Aurora, Ill., to John and Wylma Erickson. She attended the University of Illinois, where she met her husband of 55 years, James Bergstrom, who died in 2011. Wylma was an avid sports fan, especially of University of Illinois football and basketball, and was a converted Sox fan who enjoyed watching Cubs games with her family. She loved Westie dogs, Las Vegas, crossword puzzles and “Jeopardy.” But her primary loves were children Sue, Linda (the late Reid Hanley) and David (Ann LeMay) and grandchildren Sarah (Jacob Near), Karen and Emily. Funeral services will be private. Contributions can be made to the Humane Society of the United States, the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of donor’s choice.
